<p>It could be either of these, or they are all from outside the Forest</p>
<p><br />
<em> what was happening at that time to bring the two groups into the forest for work?</em></p>
<p>Agriculture, woodman or industry would seem to be the driver, Much Dewchurch is an argicultural area.</p>
<p>PS its about 15 - 20 miles from Dewstall to Newland so still pretty close :-)</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>any suggestions for finding thomas macklin, born 1779, married esther coburn 31 may 1819 newland, by banns, died 23 july 1831 res. whitecliff buried newland age 53 yrs, was a sawyer and labourer,  children susan 1820 lydney,  thomas 1822 parkend,  william 1824 parkend, john 1827 clearwell,  maria 1829 whitecliff, any advise on what to try next to find his birth place and other relatives would be much apprecated.   thanks  cathy</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>sorry i forget to put in enough infomation thomas macklin born 1779 where ?? died 1831 forest of dean married hester coburn 1819 newland forest of dean he was 40 years old he was not a widower. I don't think he came from the area as there is a lack of macklins in any of the records.   cathy</p>
