This is going to take some sorting out. I certainly have George Roberts baptised 14 Oct 1832 & Mary Ann Pritchard 1834 in my family tree, but have not developed the family at all. From your next posting I also have the Thomas Barnard 1808 & Elizabeth Trigg 1814 in my Family Tree - not related but 5 of their 9 children lead to relatives. As someone once said " I will be back......" When I have sorted it all out.

Let me explain who I am.
I am the wife of Robert David Cox. His mother was Gladys Nicholls daughter of Mary Jane nee Meredith,(some times called Jenny) Roberts maternal grandmother, both of Cinderford.Mary Jane was widowed very early so I never met Roberts grandfather.

Your grandfather married Edith Eleoner Nicholls, Mary Janes daughter.

John and David and your grandfather I met in 1966 when I beacme engaged to Robert. He took me to Cinderford to meet his Gran.(Mary Jane)

I also met your grandfathers daughter, Jean who married John Simmonds.

Who are your parents?
We have recently heard from Roberts older sister Julie that Jean died in February after a fall.

I hope you reply. Robert would be your cousin, I'm not sure how many cousins removed though.

Arthur Barnard born 1906/7 son of William Barnard is shown as living at Edge Hills, Plump Hill with his parents William & Hannah on the 1911 census.

William is aged 39 and has a step son named Roberts and has been married 14 years so presumably he is the William Barnard of the William Barnard & Hannah Roberts marriage in 1897

Regarding Meredith's marrying Barnard's. I have 56 Meredith's in my family tree and 160 Barnard's, including a William Meredith 1837 who married Jane Barnard 1832. She was the daughter of Thomas Barnard 1799 & Lucy Harris 1799 who were shown in my previous posting.

You may however found and solved a mystery of a Eliza Baynham entering the Barnard family. My mother-in-law is 98 and was a Nicholls of Cinderford, (her mother was a Meredith), and swears there was a Eliza Baynham in the family but I could never connect a Baynham any where. i'LL FOLLOW THAT UP.
And I noticed a Emily Meredith MARRYING A BARNARD. THE PLOT THICKENS

I am very happy to share the information regarding the ancestors of the William Barnard 1860 married to Ann that I have in my family tree.

What I am not clear about is whether Arthur Percival 1906 is indeed their son.

We have now heard from Auntiema that she found "my" William Barnard in the 1911 Census and the children shown Albert Richard and Rosa Doris accords with the details I have, but no Arthur. He could have been staying with someone else though.

My husbands, Arthur Percival born 1906 Cinderford is my husbands Aunts husband.
Aunt being Edith Eleanor Nicholls born 1909-1955.

Arthur was a bricklayer builder and I met him and his family only once in 1965. Arthur was a very quietly spoken man and I remember quite tall.

They had three children which I also met. John born 1932, Jean E. born 1937 and David born 1943.

I'm told that Arthur was living in Victoria street at the time of his marriage.

His wife is the daughter of William John Nicholls and Mary Jane Meredith, my husbands paternal grand parents.

Arthur and Ediths daughter Jean married John Simmonds in 1956 in Cinderford. I also met them both and what a lovely couple they were.

Well, after all that do I meet the criterier for your info. Is William and Ann married in 1890 my Arthurs parents?

I have William Barnard 1860 in my family tree 1st cousin 3 times removed married to Ann, which I now assume is the Ann Baker in Chris's list, he had a brother Moses which will accord with the death details from slowhands for William.

I only have up to the 1901 Census, so if Arthur is part of this family he might appear in 1911, which I don't have - hint hint !!
