I am also researching this family. Fanny Symmonds (daughter of William and Abigail)was my great-great grandmother. I now have three conflicting maiden names for Abigail: Flak, Hale and Hall.

The Flak reference in the marriage records lists aDinah Symmonds as a witness which would fit with the family names. Abigail had a sister called Sarah.

Does anyone have any other information that could help verify which name is correct?

Maybe there is some connection here with my relation William Symmonds/Simmonds b 1811 in Ireland, William married Sarah Taysome/Taysum of Arlingham.

They had a son called Aaron b 1842 who married Maria Stevens. They had rather a lot of children, one being Henry Aaron Simmonds (my G G Grandfather). Henry Aaron had a daughter called Daisy in around 1900 with Alice Mason, she was my Grandads half-sister.

Also, interestingly I have a family connection with Illinois through the Mills family, two of my Grandads Great Uncles were killed in the Cherry Mining disaster in Illinois in 1909. My Grandads mother was Mabel Mills, second wife of Henry Aaron Simmonds.

Lots of similar names and places... surely there must be some connection down the line? From what I have seen, within the family are so many children named after other relatives, do you have any other info?
