Hello Amaska, yes indeed, Douglas Arthur King was my father. He had a twin brother Harold Thomas but as their father died in the big flu epidemic when they were babies the stronger twin, "Tom" was adopted out into the wider family, while my father stayed with his mother. She remarried later to Albert Taylor and had several more sons. She died of Graves disease on the birth of her last son, the 4th Taylor child. I wonder if your father was Douglas Arthur King who was a son of Arthur Charles Harold King? My mother is a granddaughter of Alice King - Arthur's oldest sister.

I am descended in the strictly maternal line from Lucy Williams who married Henry King. I have been tracing her maternal ancestry and am back to 1699 now.

I am also very interested in the Kings. I have a photograph of Lucy in old age standing in front of a stone wall with a young girl. I would like to know who the girl was. My mother thinks she was nicknamed Dolly, and was a twin. My mother believes the photograph was probably taken on or near a smallholding that her Great Uncle Sidney Samuel King had in about 1930 in Plump Hill, near Cinderford. I wonder if the girl could be a daughter of Sidney Samuel King. He was one of Lucy's sons. I think he married late in life, and had a twin son and daughter in 1922. Any light you can shed would be great!

DOES ANYONE HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF PARENT NAMES FOR LUCY WILLIAMS WHO MARRIED HENRY KING AT WESTBURY ON SEVERN DEC 1874. I FOUND THE MARRIAGE ON BMD.
