In the late 70s until I found proper football at Hereford (shame you say!!) I recall hearing the call of "Moggy" at Kingsholm rugby ground; Richard MOGG was a superb winger for Gloster RFC, Glos County and England "B" for many years, and is an alltime legend at the club. I've just found this showing he was locally born which helps explain his popularity.

The article mentions the game vs Japan, I attended that as my friend's birthday treat, the Japanese were large by their nations standards but dwarfed by the infamous Gloster team who won by 50+ points. The game's biggest cheer was when the Japanese scored their only try towards the end of a hard night's work.
