Albert Brain from Drybrook Cross was my grand father. He married Vera Morman who owned the fruit and veg shop on the Cross for many years.
Albert was a supplies lorry driver and served in North Africa during the 2nd World War. I have a lovely picture of him in army uniform stood with his lorry during this time. I also have his military medals on display with this picture on the wall in my house in Drybrook. In my early years I remember both Uncle Tom Brain and wife Ruby and Endell - who I always knew as Uncle Mick and wife Alice. hope this information helps. All the best Martin
