Any relatives of Maria Bryant out there? She was born in the Forest (I believe) in 1842, and then moved to New Zealand. She died in 1924.
Any relatives or anyone with knowledge of this lady, please get in touch!

That's about all I know of her! I now know that she was married to Timothy in the 1871 census - although I haven't got around to looking for the exact date yet.
Thanks ofr posting the info though, I really appreciate it - I only found out about this ancestor today, so it's all very new!

Maria Bryant
Maria Ruck was the daughter of Stephen Bryant - shoemaker. She married Timothy Niblett Ruck 1/2/1864 at Flaxley - her name given as Maria Ruck Bryant.
Stephen Bryant married his second wife Sarah Ruck at Cinderford St Johns on 11/6/1861 having been a lodger at his house on the 1851 census when he was a widower.
My main interest is the Nibletts. Timothy being the base child of Hannah Niblett who married John Ruck. I do have more info if you want on his family, the Rucks and Bryants.

I should have added that John Ruck who married Hannah Niblett was most likely the brother of Sarah Ruck who married Stephen Bryant.

My first day here and things are looking up.
Stephen Bryant b.1799 was my great-grandfather, I have just identified two postcards from the Ruck family in Christchurch, New Zealand to my grandmother Alice Bryant in 1910, written by Tiny/Imy? 'Dear Aunt, mother is really wonderful for her age' and 'we work in this building in High St,Christchurch' it really begs the question who are 'we'

I am a great grandson of Timothy Niblett Ruck who arrived in Nelson NZ in 1879 with his wife Maria and their 3 children Alfred ,Annie and Martha. He was a miner. They later moved to Christchurch. The postcard you refer to will have been sent by one of the daughters,(my great aunts), neither of whom married and one was known as Tiny.
I do not know whether you are researching the Ruck family, and whether you seek any further information. if so please advise, preferably by email to Rucks@xtra.co.nz
