Another picture of Ruardean faces of the 1950s at a gathering for you to recognize. Together with a tribute to Jim Whittington the last Lord Mayor of Ruardean.

In the tibute to Jim Whittington is the answer to Sylvia's query that the tradition was that the talest man in the village should be the Lord Mayor. Well, the rules were somewhat changed in that it was agreed that the mayor, on this occasion should be the talest man in the village - lying down! Jim's vital statistics around his stomach easily made him number one for the job.

Gavin Cecil has sent us another picture, this one is of the children of Ernest and Ivy Wilce from the Lydbrook area, taken in the 1930s.

Russell Thorne has sent us a few photos taken in the 1940s of Newnham Village which is located on the banks of the River Severn.
