Edwin Lander (General)

by slowhands @, proud of his ancient Dean Forest roots, Monday, February 27, 2006, 04:45 (6835 days ago) @ david John Sheppard

Given the proximity of Daglingworth and Duntisbourne, and Stratton
I 'd say this is him in 1851, transcribed as Sander. <easily done>

1851 Golden Heart Inn
William Gyde abt 1796 Painswick, Gloucestershire, England Head Painswick Gloucestershire
Ell Gyde abt 1796 Painswick, Gloucestershire, England Wife Painswick Gloucestershire
Edwin Sander abt 1830 Daglingworth, Gloucestershire, England Nephew Painswick Gloucestershire
William West abt 1825 Painswick, Gloucestershire, England Lodger Painswick Gloucestershire
Henry Philpotts abt 1838 Painswick, Gloucestershire, England Lodger Painswick Gloucestershire

Golden Heart, Tibbiwell Street,Painswick GL6 6XX
Although the Golden Heart is now a private house it has retained its impressive cast iron inn sign which features a large golden heart. Apparently the occupants regularly receive requests for liquid refreshments!

There are a few other Lander's in the Duntisbourne area who would be likely siblings.
