TRIGG / WHITTINGTON Coalway / Cannop 1920's (General)

For those not on the GLS list, I have copied a recent post, regarding the local "free paper"

10 March 2006 p16 of the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley Review

I meant to mention this earlier, but didn't get a chance, but thought
readers may be interested that an account was written in the paper above
regarding some old diaries from the 1920s found in an old chest. The diary
was that of Joseph Leslie TRIGG of Coalway. After the war he married twice
Nina and then afterwards Catherine Alice WHITTINGTON (ancestor of Dick
apparently). He worked in Cannop Colliery and the diary is also reported to
include many mining incidents and locals. (an extract of the diary is in the
paper and more will be in next weeks paper). I think they intend to give the
diaries and papers found to Gloucester museum.
