I am a descendant also from this line of Hales and would like to share my research with you to see if it fits at all:

The Hale at the top of my tree is:

Aaron c. 1670 Ruardean who married Elizabeth Jordan begat
Aaron c. 1703 Ruardean who married Mary Smart (The Smart Line I have going back to 1520) begat
Aaron c. 1730 Ruarden who married Susanna More begat
Aaron c, 1765 Welsh Bicknor who married Elizabeth Evans begat
Henry c. 1789 Coleford who married Ann Hawkins begat
John 1819 East Dean/Cinderford who married Harriet Nelmes begat
John 1852 Cinderford who married Catherine Williams (Kate) begat
William John 1885 Merthyr Tydfil/ Cinderford who married Sarah Ellen Evans begat
William John 1910 Cinderford who married Ida Spicer - these were my grandparents.
