Jane's age is given as 13 in the 1851 Census which was taken on 30 March of that year. So Jane would have been born on a date between 31 March 1837 and 30 March 1838. Birth may not have been registered as it was not compulsory or birth may have been just before commencement of Civil Registration on 1 July 1837.
