by Daphne McCartney , Sunday, July 30, 2006, 14:28 (6683 days ago)
Does anyone have any knowledge of Anne Gwilliam (1766 Gloucester) or Mary Gwilliam (1807 Gloucester) found to be living in 1841 with my possible ancestor James Hughes (1760 English Bicknor)
Thank you
Daphne

Thank you Mike & Slowhands for your information. I was hoping to discover if there was a connection between the Gwilliams and James Hughes but they may have just been boarders. Anyway you have helped me confirm death date for James so I can send for certificate. Appreciate your assistance and I will save information just in case a connection does turn up.
Best wishes

There are GWILLIAM/HUGHES connections but at present I do not know of a connection to James. It is possible that Ann wife of Joseph and mother of Samuel connects as I do not know Ann's maiden name.
Best wishes

From English Bicknor Parish Registers.
5 April 1762 Thomas HUGHS married Susannah MATTHEWS.
Witness: John GWILLIAM
This is probably John baptised 25 February 1737/38 at Littledean.
The family moved to English Bicknor area shortly after John's marriage to Sarah BENNETT on 10 September 1759.
This John is connected to Joseph wife of Ann. Family Tree Maker tells me "First Cousin twice removed".
