Elizabeth RICKETTS (General)
I'm searching for an Elizabeth Ricketts, born in the Gloucestershire - possibly the Forest of Dean or a mining area - particularly iron mining- around 1780.
(She was married in 1802, and lived to 85 years of age.)
Wonder if she's on anyone's family tree or if anyone knows anything about the Ricketts family.
If anyone can help, I would be very pleased. Thanks
Elizabeth RICKETTS
Is Ricketts her married name or maiden name? You said she was married in 1802 have you her husbands christian name or any names/D.O.B of any children if they had them?
Elizabeth RICKETTS
Thanks for replying - it's her maiden name. She was married in Wales to my ggggg grandad, Henry Silkstone, who we think worked in the Forest of Dean (family info by word of mouth).
He was a miner - possibly lead miner and possibly came from Derbyshire as there are loads of Silkstone's there and iron mines. Unfortunately that's all I know.

thanks. This looks really likely, although I think it maybe the one I got really excited about and then she went and married someone else - according to someone else's family tree! But they may be wrong.
Is there any record of this one marrying anyone? I think there are about three of them that I found after posting the message and I think one died and another married someone else.
Only wish she'd been called Elizabeth Zebra-Giraffe - and then I'd have a better chance.

I've checked the marriage records on the Parish Records section of this website, I haven't come up with any marriages for Elizabeth.
Having said that, you may be aware from the various posts on this website, that the Parish Records Transcription is an ongoing project and new Records are being added daily, so it's worth keeping an eye out and regularly checking the Records for updates.
I'm sure if she was called 'Zebra Giraffe' someone somewhere would transcribe that as something totally different!
