Henry JONES and Richard SMITH (General)

I need help,please to find a connection between a Henry JONES and a Richard SMITH. A Henry JONES was my 2x grt. grandfather but I haven`t been able to find out which one. I thought I was on to a good thing when i got the marriage certificate of Henry and a Hannah GUNDY but what was written on it as Henry`s father? Richard LEWIS. Slowhands kindly sent me details of a Richard SMITH but I cant match his to any of Henry`s details I have
