On the Sungreen pages there were photos of A Bush Inn and I wondered if anyone would do a lookup of that inn in 1871 census to see if there was a Catherine POWELL employed there, please

East Dean District 13 covers Lydbrook, Hausley, Joys Green etc ( possibly parts of rather than all)

Plenty of Colliers' families, but could not spot a POWELL

District 12 also seems to have a portion of Joys Green / Pludds area.

A Public House in Hausley - unnamed - is run by George (32) and Kizia (33) Davies, their servant appears to be Agnes Eliza Teague aged 12

prior Census appears to be
1861 Hausley - unnamed Inn
Elizabeth Smart abt 1835 East Dean Head East Dean Gloucestershire Inn Keeper
Sarah Vaughan abt 1856 East Dean Visitor East Dean Gloucestershire
Timothy Vaughan abt 1859 East Dean Visitor East Dean Gloucestershire

Masons Arms , Hausley
Hausley is a tiny hamlet towards Joys Green above Central Lydbrook. The pub is known locally as 'The Bush.’

Hi Thanks once againfor your reply. Its interesting to see that the servant(Agnes) has the name that Catherine POWELL gave her daughter in 1874. Another coincidence, I suppose
best wishes

The Bush Inn at Hawsley is properly called the Masons Arms. It is still called "The Bush" by local people.
