Hi,
Yes, we're back to the vaughans! I have come to the end of my tether trying to find this family in the US. The elusive william Henry and his wife Julia Elizabeth (nee Hewlett). I can't find their son or their daughter who were born in the US but thanks to slowhands I was able to locate Williams second marriage.
The details are:
27th Jan 1892 in the Independent Chapel Littledean
William Henry Vaun - bachelor - (would you believe it!) 30 yrs Collier
Father Henry Vaughan (deceased) occupation not very legible looks like Mainer.
Eva Jones - Spinster - 23 yrs father Samuel Jones occupation of Collier.
Bride and Groom residing at Bilson Green in East Dean.

So William has unmarried himself and made himself six years younger - I'd like to try that!!
The only reason I'm sure it's him is that I have the correct children with them in the 1901 census and also the marriage is witnessed by W J Nicholas and Carrie Jones. Nicholas being williams family.

Any additions, comments or specks of light to shed on this one would be very welcome!!

Vaugh(a)n /Vaun marriage - Independent Chapel

I can add a little more to the information provided by Tanith.

In 1902 William Henry Vaughan was trading as a butcher in Cinderford there is an entry in a commercial directory.

William's daughter Fanny (born USA) Mother Julia Hewlett, and documented in the 1901 census, is my Grandmother, her marriage to Frank Burt took place in Bristol Register Office. The marriage took place on 15th July 1908 and gives William Henry Vaughan as Father (still living). Occupation Farmer.

The address on the certificate for Fanny is Blagdon House Stoke Bishop Bristol. Does anybody have any information regarding this property, the
Bristol Waterworks own it now, and it is a reservoir and fishing centre.

Would Fanny have been in service and this may have been her place of work?
More mystery.

The witnesses at the wedding were Chas. Wm. Bird and I. V Bebston. Are the names familiar to anyone?

I have the remainder of Fanny's history documented to her death in
1921 -

but no knowledge of William Henry Vaughan's movements.

As Tanith says any help would be appreciated.
