One of my ancestors was baptised in Newland in 1836 and his residence is down as Glen.Does anyone know where this is?

If you use the Advanced Search with just “Parish Newland” and “Residence Glen” you will get nine hits. If you then repeat the search with “Residence Glyn” you will get twenty-three hits. There are various spellings of Glyn. Some of the names which come up are common to the two searches: JONES, POWELL, LOVERIDGE, HARRIS. There is a sprinkling of farmers among them. This could mean that what you are looking for is Glyn Farm, shown on this map from around 1880:-

The farm is south-west of Newland on the Valley Brook.
Later note. There is another Glyn Farm not too far away but it is across the river near Penallt.

Spot on I would say Mike, a beautiful walk down that valley from Newland past The Glyn to Redbrook.
