Dear List,
I have just joined the Forest of Dean Family History in the hope of finding some others researching my family. I have Richard Jenkins 1776 (from the 1841 census, not born in county, his will and family grave stone) marrying Ann Moss 1782 Leeds. They married at Bedwelty parish church on the 21st July 1800. I have searched all over for Richard's birthplace and think that there is a good probability that he came from Newland given all the evidence I have so far.

Having researched the children of Richard Jenkins 1776 I now have the following abbreviated information. The children of Richard Jenkins and Ann Moss known to me and of course there could be others but these come from the family grave and the will of Richard Jenkins and are:-

George 1801 died 1803
Frances c 1804 married John Owen of Gelligaer, Glam at Vaynor Brecs on the 13th September 1820.
William 1808 died 1809
Richard c 1808 and died 26th November 1893 at Hay, Brecs married Mary Ann Marsden (sister to David below) in the Jan to March quarter of 1839 Abergavenny District. Richard was a wine and spirit merchant who lived at the Punch Bowl/House, Tredegar for many years and was also the High Constable of Wentlooge.
Isaac c 1811 died 1853 married Elizabeth Watson on the 14th April 1839 Bedwelty. Isaac was firstly a patern maker, then carpenter, then inn keeper of the Coach and Horses
Sarah 1814 died at 1 month
Thomas c 1815 Dukestown, Brecs married Mary Ann Mainwaring 1842. On the premature death of Isaac he looked after my great grandmother Agnes Frances Jenkins 16/9/1851.
John 1816 died young
Eliza c1817 married David Marsden of Llanfair, Cardigan in 15th October 1838 Bedwelty. The marriage was performed by Rev. Benjamin Marsden brother of David.
John 1820

I have most of the children of the above and if anyone has any connections I would be grateful if they would contact me. I have yet to prove the connection with Newland but having looked everywhere else it all seems to fit.

with many thanks
Diana
