Hi

I have Elizabeth Whittaker b c 1850- 1853. Married to Noah Howell at Christchurch, West Dean, on 21/12/1872- both full age, both address as Lane End.
On the cert Elizabeth states that her father is George a Gas fitter(deceased)-
Witnesses are Jospeh Salter and Eliza Whittaker-

Whittaker spelling is 2 t's on cert but obviously may only be 1 t!

I have not been able to find Elizabeth with her father George on any previous census-

I have had no problem finding Elizabeth with Noah on the census, and each time her birth place is West Dean.

Should I be looking at Monmouthshire or Glous for birth reg-

I found this entry in 1861 Wales, Monmouthshire- RG9 3993 83 17

Am I way off the mark with this one? Not very good with Geography!!!

There is a marriage for Jospeh Salter to Eliza Whittaker in 1873, should I get that marriage cert to see if father George, gas fitter?

I'm getting more confused, the more I look!

I'm just a bit confused as to why George is a gas fitter on Elizabeth's marriage rather than Ag Lab.................but I suppose he could have changed occupation.

What you have found looks extremely promising so thank you very much- I just need to work out which route to take now to prove they are the same family.
