I found it earlier today, and agree it seems a decent fit, but I didn't post it earlier because I was worried as there seemed a few other "Richard Jones" baptisms in the general area between Tintern and Chepstow. The website Search box wasn't working properly for me so I didn't continue, prob just my steam-powere pc playing up again, it seems fine again now.
Can also find this Marriage, his parents perhaps, I cannot see any other local contenders in the PRs at all;

The PRs include 12 "Elizabeth Jones" Burials at Chapel Hill Monmouth ranging from 1713 to 1871, sadly many of the earliest don't give age at death, but wonder if this one COULD be our Elizabeth, perhaps ?

Hi again and belated welcome to the forum and website.
Please don't assume these are definitely Richard's parents,they are not uncommon names and sometimes things are not how they first appear. Lots of work still to do to be certain, eg tracing the trees of the apparent siblings may give further clues, or any witnesses at marriages etc are always a good pointer.
Please can you revisit the page linked below, and activate your emails icon. I'd like to send a helpful email direct to your inbox but cannot do so without your help.
Many thanks, Jeff

Hi !
sorry for thinking you'd not read the guidelines. Ref activating the email facility, so as to gain a envelope icon displayed next to your username, to be honest I'm not 100% sure how to do it either ! It was 8 years ago when I joined the forum and I'm notoriously forgetful.
Apologies for not realising you were an experienced researcher, very often we get complete novices who can be prone to making assumptions or taking clues as gospel fact.
Hope to speak by email later.
Jeff.
