1858 Charles Manns (General)
Another Manns brick wall!
1858 Charles Manns born in Dymock, Glos on 06.05.1858. Registered in Newent.Parents Joseph & Ann Beard
It looks as if he travelled away from Gloucestershire to work as a Mat Maker/Rag Weaver
02.10.1880 married Margaret Elizabeth Fisher in Lancester
By 1911 Census living in Wakefield.
1939 Register he is living alone (Widower) still in Wakefield
My problem is that i cannot find his death date. Hope someone on here will be able to help
Many thanks

I am also trying to find his family in the 1891 Census
I have found him living alone in 1891 in Deansgate, Manchester but no sign of his family,
wife Margaret Elizabeth and children James,Charles & Lionel Sylvester Manns
However, athey are all back together in the 1901 Census, living in Wakefield.
Thank you

Thank you. This is the correct family. I wonder why they were not with the husband Charles who was living on Manchestet and shy call herself a widow
1858 Charles Manns
Thank you. I did see this record but dismissed it because of him living in Malvern. However, the Lionel Sylvester Manns mentioned would be his son so I sm thinking that this is the correct Charles

I have seen this before. It is easier for the woman to say she is a widow, rather than have to explain where her husband is!
