William Henry SCRIVENS 1860 Joyford (General)
Hi Alison
Was interested to see you have an history of the Scrivens family. My 3xgt grandmother was Ann Strange Scrivens (married a Giles Smith from Winson, Gloucestershire a butcher). I believe her mother was Jane Scrivens but then married and became Jane Strange. Why Ann kept the two surnames is a puzzle but it is on her marriage certificate to Giles in 1851. They were publicans at Perrots Brook for many years where most of their children were born. Does any of this match what you have please?
