Slowhands,
Words fail me! I would never have thought of making surname into forname for a search, seems so simple now. Invaluable advice as ever, thank you for sharing it! I will now try this for some of my other missing boys, you never know your luck.
Thanks again
Alison
PS Certainly did make me smile!

1901census for Oliver PRIEST born 1867 died 1919 (reply)

Thank you once again slowhands, hoped that you would find Oliver and you didn't let me down!
Please tell me where you found the 1901 census? I have tried every variation I could think of on the 'Ancestry UK' site and couldn't find either Oliver or Emily, despite spending ages on them. I try to make exhaustive searches before putting a question on the forum. I have just tried again on Ancestry and neither show up on the 1901 census. It is so frustrating!!! Do you use another site? Please let me know so that I can look up the actual census return for them.
Thanks again, look forward to your reply!
Alison

1901census for Oliver PRIEST born 1867 died 1919

Trying to find 1901 census entry for
Oliver Priest baptised 1867 in Bream Eaves (Mother Hannah Father John Samuel)+
his second wife Emily Prudence Priest nee Morgan born 1866 Dursley. Married Oliver in Dursley 1st December, 1900.Died 1909 in Lydbrook.
Have found all census entries up until 1901 and also his first marriage to Alice H. Hatton in 1893.
As far as I can find out Oliver worked right up until his death at the chemical works in Lydbrook but died in trajic circumstances in the lunatic asylum in Burghill.
Have tried everything I know to locate him so am hoping someone will be able to work their magic!
With thanks to all who try,
Alison
