I would agree with what you have found on this branch, as you have been further in what you have discovered so far. As for the names of the people I can see a naming patten that has carried on from start of my family tree to present day descendants, so very like how my mothers Scottish heritage have done in naming. This is possibly another / confused MORSE branch; the 1851 puts your Richard as son of Joseph and Hannah from Brookthorope and Littleworth, thats Gloucester not Lydney ! I wonder if the source of a Joseph Morse birth in 1812 Lydney is available online ?

If Joseph is the s/o Richard and Sophia, it becomes easy to understand the naming of Richard in 1850 too.

However there is a Littleworth in Minchinhampton...so Hannah PAINE may be correct.
