Edward John MILLER St. Briavels, Gloucestershire born a1846 (reply)

Matthew, thanks to Slowhands I've been linked to this forum question. It seems clear we are related through Great grandparents Edward John Miller and Ellen PJ Ellis. His son, George Miller, born 1877 is my grandfather. Is there some way we can compare trees? I wondering to which branch of the family you belong.

Edward James MILLER 1873 Chalk Farm (reply)

Your collective input is much appreciated, I have yet to analyse in detail, but fits what I know. Edward MILLER married Ellen Patience Jakeman ELLIS 1873 and had 12 offspring which match your census records.

Only query I have is Dorothea MILLER same surname as husband Edward MILLER? Just a coincidence?

Edward John MILLER St. Briavels, Gloucestershire born a1846

I am searching for any possible information relating to Edward John MILLER my great grandfather, reputed to have been born in St. Briavels, Gloucestershire about 1846. Family work undertaken on a predominantly London based family tree (which seems to be generally reliable) says he moved from St.Briavels at an early age to Kentish Town, then Islington, dying before September 1929 at Drayton Park, Middlesex.

I can find no trace of him in Parish records or census, so am beginning to wonder if this was speculation rather than their being any source. Would be very grateful for any suggestions of how to proceed to establish if there is a St.Briavels connection.

Many thanks

Matthew
