1851 Census - John NICHOLS (reply)

Mike,
Thanks very much for posting all the information. The burial of John N. was especially interesting. I knew he had died before the 1861 census, now I know when. It is interesting that the baptisms were on Christmas Day. I had the census information and some other records already - Alice the "so called" granddaughter looks an interesting character! I only joined the forum today - It has been very informative.

1851 Census - John NICHOLS (reply)

Michael, Thanks for your reply. Before ordering a birth certificate for John born 1851 I have to select from the two shown in the Free BMD index. Now I know the month of the census I know which one to go for. If I could add - another child was born 1854, William.

1851 Census - What Month?

Would a forum member please tell me in what month the 1851 census was taken. I am researching the NICHOLLS family from Harrow Hill. John NICHOLLS born 1851 - there are two births for John NICHOLLS registered in WOS district, one in quarter 1 and one in quarter 3. If I can find out the date of the census I can work out which is (or maybe!) the one I am seeking. Thanks.
