I know this request is slightly out of the area but I am hoping someone can help me. I have on my tree Nathanial Weaver Freeman born april1842 Elmstone Hardwick to mother Mary Freeman father unknown. I was wondering if anyone could help me find his baptism. There is a young lad by the name of Nathan Weaver who lived close to Mary in Boddington and I am sure this is his father, as baptisms sometimes state fathers name I am hoping to confirm this. Nathanial Weaver Freeman did move to the area and is buried in Hope Mansell church so I hope someone can help me! thank you all in advance

did you order the Birth Cert that we pointed out 3 years ago ?

Looking at the 1871 census and the couple Sarah Ann FREEMAN are lodging with Job ROBINSON - wife Eliza and son John.

This Lee Job ROBINSON - birth registered in Tewkesbury, J/F/M Qtr 1841 - (some census goes by the name Lee) - but this family seem to follow the same 'route' and occupation as Nathan - ag. lab then a Farmer with quite a few acres

Looking at FreeBDM - Rosa FREEMAN birth was registered A/M/J Qtr 1871 - Winchombe (which covers Bishops Cleeves) where the 1881 census says she was born. - Edmund FREEMAN's birth in 1873, was Gloucester, Huntley

On FOD records, Nathan & Sarah Ann FREEMAN of Bull Hill, Gosley, Farmer, had 4 children christened on the same day 8 January 1882 at Newent - Rosa/Sarah Ann/ Nathan William/ Florence Jane - and then Frank George Joshua, in 1891 in Hope Mansell.

The GRO would photo-copy the Will if you contact them. Minimum charge used to be £5.

thank you so much for your help. We have Nathaniel Weaver Freemans marriage cert to Sarah Ann Robinson....but no father is mentioned!.....unfortunately......they are making things difficult for me! The will check also sounds like a good idea - if anyone can help. Nathaniel Weaver Freeman is traceable on every census bar 1871, he is not with his wife and children if anyone can find him! Or his mother. I had a reply from the ancestry member who had his father as Benjamin Weaver - there is no evidence that this was true, Nathanial Weaverr Freeman is staying with his grandparents Benjamin and Charlotte on 1851 census....so they misinterpreted the information. I am sure my hunch for his father being Nathan Weaver is correct...just need some evidence!

Nathan's father James WEAVER has a Will registered in 1852 on Gloucestershire Records Office database. This could give clues!

May be the E. Hardwick baptism register entry in 1842 (if available) from the GRO may or may not, yield more clues.

Nathan's marriage certificate - (5 June 1864, Cheltenham, St Peters) -to Sarah Ann ROBINSON may give correct name of father?

Nathan Weaver was born Boddington c1822 according to the 1841 census......I do not plan to research his line further just yet as we are still unsure if he is the father...so just looking for Nathaniel Weaver Freemans baptism c1842. I have seen that tree on ancestry with regards the father being Benjamin Weaver and have asked them where they have sourced that information from. Hopefully they can shed some light!

Yes, I can see just run the birth certificate off Public Members tree on Ancestry - although one tree quotes Benjamin WEAVER, as the father.

Looking at the Gloucestershire Baptism Index 1813-1837 - there is only one WEAVER baptism at Elmstone Hardwick - 9 December 1827, George, son of Thomas (labourer) and Anne
