I agree it is useful and helps to identify which church records are close enough to look at it if your ancestors dont appear in the most obvious parish.

Try a little programme that you can download called Parloc, short for Parish Locator. A very useful little programme. I use it a lot. It gives 30 miles from Coleford to Caerphilly. It will also give you parishes within a particular radius from a stated place i.e. find parishes within 6 miles from Coleford.It helps a lot when searching for "lost " rellies who may have strayed locally.

Just type Parloc into Google and follow the directions.
