I have a paternal link (Maiden name Walden)to Charles Walden (Reputed son of Richard Yarnhold, mother Charlotte (Daughter of James 1752 and Mary Meredith) brought up we believe by her brother Thomas Married to Elizabeth Yates (1st Marriage). I am trying to establish a link between William Walden and Harriet Ellis (Parents of Temperance Walden). My husband's (Second marriage) paternal line.

I guess you are researching the ancestors of Maria Walden b 1826 and Isaac Williams, children as indicated above. The Thomas and Charles you requested information on in the earlier thread were also descent from James and Mary Meredith and to share a common ancestor as does Temperance Walden another of the Walden line you have been researching on a number of other message boards

Maria Walden = Isaac William

Parents James b 1783 = Sarah Thomas m 1813

G Parents James Walden b 1752 = Mary Meredith m 1783

GG grandparent = Jane 1732

GGG Grandparent = James

sorry was busy looking at my power family from alomondsbury who when moved to wales became powell ..

just looked at the children of my g-g-g- grandmother maria walden

sarah
william
mary jane
john
elizabeth
george

maria married isaac williams

mary meredith would have been maria grandmother & jane walden would have been
her great grandmother ( maybe thats why maria called her daughter mary jane )?

so james walden is the one born without a father

so now i will have to look at jane walden parents

i suppose like you say the further you go back the harder it is to trace what might be right or wrong line

could your hannah be connected to my walden?

They are a confusing lot aren't they? I'm still chasing my Hannah Walden who married Isaac Bees in Trevethin, Pontypool in 1813, so I'm trying to eliminate (or include) the possibles from FOD.

As a result I've been working away with the Waldens on this site!

There are two James Walden baptisms in 1755, one to James and Sarah (Tingle) 13 Apr 1755 Ruardean, one a bastard child of Jane 4 May 1755 Littledean. There is a burial for a James Walden, miner aged 70 from Littledean parish Gloucs, in Blaenavon 8 May 1822, which I suspect may be the origin of the identification of the 1755 James as the one who married Mary Meredith. Mary Walden, widow of James, was also buried at Blaenavon 25 Oct 1830 aged 65, so that would fit.

Try using the advanced search function here. Just enter "wal" in the surname search field to pick up the name variations. At the end of the day, if there are several possibilities you have to make your own mind up about whether you can be sure enough to go further. I always find it helpful to look at the names of all the children who were baptised to a particular couple, and the couple's own brothers and sisters, to see if there is a pattern.

married mary meredith dated unknown

someone on a well known site has his parents as James Walden 1772 & Sarah tingle Ruardean..

A while back someone told me james mother was jane ?

so could someone help me please
