Bomb drops on Cottage in School Lane, Corse, Glos (reply)

On Thursday 2nd January 1941 a parachute mine was dropped on Corse. One person was killed and 2 injured. I don't have information on the source of this but it was recorded when doing some research on Hartpury, Corse, Staunton areas. Presumably this was recorded in the local press at the time.

http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6932

BLACKFORD MILL in the manor of Eldersfield, a substantial brick building with a
good pool behind it, is still working though in a dry summer thereis insufficient water
The wheel can be seen under an archway as you welk up the passage between the
house and the mill.

During the winter of 1940-41 a stray German bomb fell in the front garden
and caused extensive damage to the house, but this has been repaired
and the mill was quite unscathed

compare the addresses
School Lane, Pendock, Gloucester, Gloucestershire, GL19 3PW
Blackford Mill Farm Pendock Road Redmarley, Gloucester, Gloucestershire GL19 3LG
