For the 1841 adult ages were supposed to be rounded to multiples of 5 years, however this was not always the case.

Ages on census data are known to vary from one to the next - always keep an open mind !

Look for other common factors like occupation , children etc....

Hi Slowhands I had it but did not think that the two were related, because of the difference in ages between census's? Is this normal?

and I believe their marriage in Upton Bishop 1841, I am unable to find them in between these times on the census.

I had the impression you did not have the 1841 census data for this couple and Richards parents in Monmouth

Thanks for this, this is the information I have, was not sure about the son John Watkins as age does not match to 1861 census. (unless another son was born to them.) They do all seem to match up apart from that. Thank you very much for your help

Hi I am new to this site, but wondered if anyone can point me in the right direction.
Although I can find this couple from 1861 living in Bristol and Mary's baptism 1814, and I believe their marriage in Upton Bishop 1841, I am unable to find them in between these times on the census.

Mary states on all census's that she was born in Upton Bishop or Ross on Rye which I believe to be the same place!!!! Richard states that he was born in Monmouth and I am unable to find his baptism. Help Please??
