Marshalls Farm Kempley (reply)

It looks like it was a small farm , part of a larger estate. The OAKLEY's are described as Ag Labs so tenants in a small farm house / large cottage I guess !

I think the building disappeared in the 1940s /1950's using GOOGLE MAPS today the aerial view suggests a small coppice just west ( 50m) of the boudary of Allums Grove and say 400m east of Kempley Court.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl&q=kempley%20court

Marshalls Farm Kempley (reply)

Thanks for that,

Yes the burials definately tie in with my James & Ann, I think James most probably went to live with his son Thomas & wife Eliza who were in Much Marcle on 1901 census.....all ties in brilliant - thank you!!!

That is interesting about Marshalls, was it a farm or just a cottage I wonder, would love to find out more about James, I wonder if there are records for Gamekeepers there!!!

Have been to Kempley Church & had a quick look to see if there was a house/farm called Marshalls but couldnt find anything, will have a look at the map.

Thanks again for all the help,
Jan
