Hi Daniel and welcome to this great site, thanks for your helpful post.
You may have noticed Pauline's username on the thread appears as black rather than blue. Unfortunately this means she hasn't been actively using this site for quite some time, possibly several years given this thread's date, so unfortunately she may not see your post. If it was a blue username you can click on it to track that user's recent activity and also send a direct email to their computer.
I do hope I'm wrong and Pauline does see your post, maybe she's still using this forum but under a different username. If you try googling her full name you may find her active on other family history websites wrt Tasm-ania, such as Ancestry.
Meanwhile good luck with your researches, and please keep using this forum and website. Thanks for contributing your FH information to this thread, it may well help other researchers.

Ref your message about Anne Harriet Haddock being your great grandmother, she is also my great grandmother. I am the grandson of

David Downing 1897-1954. His daughter Kathleen Downing was my mother. I remember grandad babysitting me when my mother was working and my dad was in the army.

I have been researching my roots and around grandads time I run out of leads. I know he married a Sarah Keogh but can find no information on when and where.

My mother died a few years ago and she told me a long time ago there were relatives in Australia but not who they were.

This message is basically to say any information I have, you are welcome to and hopefully I can find out more.

David Downing married Sarah Keogh who was from Tipperary and apparently was bought out of service by David Downing.

She shows up on several electoral rolls in the Winson Green area where I was born in 1947. I lived at 11 back of 387 Heath Street Winson Green with initially my mother , grandad and presumably my grand mother Sarah but I only remember my grandfather.

Children of the marriage of David Downing and Sarah Keogh are: Patricia Downing, Dennis Downing and my mother Kathleen Downing.
I have a relative who thinks there were more children but I very much doubt it.

As I said any information I can supply I will
Best wishes
Daniel Keith Willis

Annie Harriet HADDOCK

I have just found this site, what a great wealth of information.

I am from Tasmania, Australia and not up to date on the names of places in the UK, so forgive me if I go off on the wrong track.

I am researching my great grandmother Annie Harriet HADDOCK. She was born about 1870 in Kidderminster, the daughter of Thomas bn about 1844 in Hartlebury and Elizabeth A Unknown bn about 1838 in Hallow. Annie married David Downing on 22nd April 1889, at the Church of St Matthew in the Parish of Harborne. She died 30 Sep 1914 in Ladywood, Birmingham. In the 1871 Census she was resident at 5 Hincott Road, St Mary, Worc.

Annie's parents and grandparents are in order below. I would be extremely grateful if anyone who is in 'our family' could contact me.

Thomas Haddock bn 1844 Hartlebury m Elizabeth A Unknown
Joseph Haddock bn 23 Apr 1815 Lydbrook m Harriet Pritchard
Joseph Haddock bn 28 Aug 1785 LLangfelch
Rawlings Haddock nn 1754 Aberavon m Elizabeth Williams
William Haddock bn 1727 m Ann
William Haddock m Ellen

Many thanks - Pauline Hortle
