Am I right in thinking that there was something written in the deeds about the water supply I seem to recall my father saying something about it? His father was the owner in 1891

It is now a private dwelling known as Royal Oak Cottage, the present owners have lived there for probably 35 years.

The claim to fame (local legend) of the Bag O' Nails was having the biggest bar in England. Understandably so, the bar counter was a "stable door" at the back of the building, the carpet was grass (on the green) and the ceiling was sky (blue?)

Royal Oak, GL17 9UG
In the 1891 petty sessional divisional records it is listed without having a name. In the 1903 book it is simply listed as the Royal Oak, East Dean.
There is a Royal Oak Road, the Pludds GL17 9UG.
