I only have Mary Ann Goode b.1842 on my tree. I'll do some digging and flesh out the ancestors a bit more and post again if I find anyhting solid for you.

Sadly the only thing I can find about their occupations is a marriage cert (1842 Elizabeth Pearce) which lists Thomas Goode as a labourer.

Taking a guess, most everyone seems to be miners, laborors, county bailifs (only one or two and nearer 1900's) and the occasionally farmers.

I wish I could help you further and certainly will post if I find more.

Hello again!I think ive finally cracked it!Phillip was Charlottes Father i see her Mother Ellen died and he remarried,Ellens maiden name was Baldwin and her Father Cornellius. I also see that Phillips Father was a Thomas Barnard who married Mary Goode in 1799,Now all i need to do is trace the Baldwins and the Goode Family,Thanks for your help any other info please let me know! I Think you may be right me and me Dad were going by a family tree given to me Dad about 12 odd years ago before the internet etc,it states Noah Mason married Charlotte in 1838 so i geuss that is wrong,so i take it Sarah Barnard mother of Charlotte is not desended from the Dixon/Dicksons then?

Charlotte was bapt 12 Mar 1843 to Philip Barnard & Ellen Baldwin at Holy Trinity. Residence Ruardean Hill. (see this site)
In 1851 Philip is a widower on Plump Hill.
Ellen Barnard buried Drybrook (= Holy Trinity) 23 Nov 1844 aged 29. Residence Ruardean Hill. (see this site)
17 Jun 1860 Charlotte Barnard m. Noah Mason in Mitcheldean Congregational.
in 1861 Noah & Charlotte are lodging in Ruardean Hill with Philip Nicholls and wife http://www.forum.forest-of-dean.net/index.php?id=9922
Do you have any reason to doubt that Philip & Ellen's Charlotte is the one who married Noah?
Note that I believe Philip later married Sarah Joiner nee Beale 25 Apr 1872 also in Mitcheldean Congregational

Charlotte was the name of Charles & Sarah's eldest child, born 1853 at Lining Wood in the Forest above Mitcheldean.
She married Edwin Davies 11 Aug 1875 and there were 3 children: Kate Edith, Charles William & Albert Sidney.
This Charlotte is my great great-aunt.
I also have a greatx2 great-aunt Charlotte bapt 1832 but she died 1852.
There is a Charlotte 1st cousin 3 times removed born 1847 Windsor Lodge. Her single mother, Hannah, went on to marry Thomas Richardson Howell(s) and later Thomas How.
Then there was Philip & Ellen's daughter Charlotte b. 1843
Charlotte Barnard born 1856 Mitcheldean out of marriage to Elizabeth & William Cooke. Apparently she is my 2nd cousin 3 times removed! She went on to marry Miles Thomas Adams. Her mother Elizabeth married George Carpenter.
Another Charlotte, same relation to me, was born to George Barnard & Ruth Priest c. 1847

Hopefully you'll know enough to rule out most of these?

On closer in spection with me Dad we arent related to Phillip Barnard the Phillip Barnard we came across was 65 in 1881 which would of made him 22 when she married JONAH Mason in 1838 so he definately cant be Charlottes Father,So now we arent sure we have come across a Johnathan Barnard who had a wife Sarah there Daughter was Charlotte,would they be anyway related to Charles Barnard who married Sophia Dixon?I know the Dixons were Romany and there is Rumour of Romany in our family,would you be able to shed any light on it for me,have youever heard of a Charlotte Barnard?

I don't think so. Philip, I believe, was descended from Thomas Barnard & Mary Goode (m. 17 Feb 1799 Abenhall) whereas my great x2 grandfather, Charles, was descended from Jonathan Barnard & Mary Cloudley (m. 11 Apr 1765 Mitcheldean). Are you related to Charles' son, Jonathan? He died 1924 Aberfan.
