The Lydney marriages 1926-1935 are currently out for transcription.

I have had a few instances of census records and GRO index entries being mistranscribed.

The name in question is Lauder.

The 1911 census had it down as Lander and at least one GRO entry has a marriage as Lander, after cross checking it with the other spouses name it said Lauder.

I think it has happened again.

I have Amanda Louise Lander marrying a Alan J Pye July 1/4 1928 Chepstow District. The name should read I think Amanda Louise Lauder.

Amandas' father was James Lauder Estate Agent Old Park Lydney.

She was from Lydney, Born 1902, so the marriage should be there,

I Have cross checked Pye births with mothers name of Lander with no results.

There are Births of Pye with Lauder as mothers name although not in the area the coincidence cannot be ruled out.
