Thanks slowhands. I could only find those owners on-line. Is there anywhere I can look to find out who shareholders would have been for this or any other mine?

My g/grandfather worked in Lightmoor Colliery and lived in Cinderford. I am told he was an owner/part owner in a mine. Can anyone help me to confirm this please?

Its is possible he held shares, but the "owners" of Lightmoor were the Crawshays and Teagues...

Hi again. So, your grandmother was Florence PREDDY. I wasn't able to find a marriage for her or for Fred PREDDY. Do you know if he was a WWI veteran? I was able to find two Frederick W. PREDDYs on the WWI medal index and one of the two were killed according to the CWGC.

Have you done much research on the HALE family? Did you know that two of William HALE & Sarah NAYLOR's children came to Canada? They settled in Nova Scotia in a mining town. This is where my grgr grandfather Tom HALE settled too.

Dorothy & Edna Preddy were sisters of my paternal grandmother. Edna & Joshua did have children, one of whom I am going to see today (how spooky is that!) I will take your query with me and see what I can find out.

PREDDY family of Cinderford

I was wondering if somebody could please help me with the PREDDY family?

I found that Edna A. PREDDY married Joshua WEBB and Dorothy Hale PREDDY married Archibald EVANS. Both marriages took place in 1921 in Drybrook. Would anyone know if there were any children from these marriages? Edna & Dorothy are both grandchildren of Matthew HALE who I thin is a veteran of the US Civil War. I would like to track down some family members who might be able to say this is true. Thanks.
