Hi Guys,

Did you sort out William John & John Henry Frowen. John Henry (Jack) Frowen along with his wife Mary Ann (nee Williams) and family of three children joined his brother George William Frowen in December 1903 at Charters Towers, Queensland Australia. George was married to Elizabeth Williams who was the sister of Mary Ann Williams. Jack & Mary Ann had another son (John Ralph) born at Charters Towers in 1904 but I don't know what happened to Jack & family after 1904.

Any further info most welcome

The Dobbs also had a daughter Alice 1876 born Newland.

If you contact me direct I will give you access details to my website so that you can view my tree. (It's possible we have been in contact before). However as regards Jemima and Thomas and their immediate family that is about all I have to offer.

Hi it's Trish again. Family i.e. my mother is convinced that John Henry's mother died in childbirth and father was some wealthy landowner. Of course it could all be a cover up as William was born in the workhouse.The Dobbs went on to have another son named William! It's enough to drive one barmy.Where is the truth. Also the can't find them between 1870-1881. Any more ideas?

Just read through my original message and realised that William John was actually born 30th March 1867 but not baptised until July 1868. Could William John and John Henry be the same person?.

It's never easy is it?.

I am looking for birth record or any information on the parentage of John Henry Frowen born 1867 Newland. Family story is that his mother died in childbirth and he was taken in by Jemima Frowen. Jemima then married Thomas Dobbs in 1869. Census of 1881 shows John Henry under Dobbs but on his marriage certificate he uses Frowen and states that father was John Henry Frowen then deceased. I would like to find his mother and am not convinced of father's identity as sound!
Would love some help with this.
