It looks like James was dead in 1858 so Henry's father may not be named on the Birth Cert, his baptism in 1872 is another pointer, Charlotte's demise in the workhouse suggests there was no support for her

It certainly seems that James & Charlotte split as on Louisas marriage in 1877 it clearly states James as brides father but on Henrys baptism in 1872 father not stated also when he married Matilda in 1887 father not named and footnote says deceased. I am wondering if Henry was the result of an affair and will have to buy birth certificate to see if a father is stated. Could possibly be the end of the Bowkett male line for our tree.

It was my husbands grandfather Redvers born 1900 that brought this line of Bowketts to Wales. Regards, Pam

I haven't found a death for Ann yet, nor any children?

James Bowkett(1830) married Charlotte Phelps(1830) 1852 Taynton, they had a son Henry born 1961 residence was Glasshouse Hill. The 1871 census shows Charlotte Bowkett with son Henry at Red Heart ? another entry shows a Charlotte Bowkett at Westbury Union Residence.
Charlottes Parents were John Phelps & Sarah Cox.

Henrys baptism in 1872 father was not stated, residence was Nottwood Blaisdon.
Henry married Matilda Bowkett 1877 Blaisdon which states his father deceased.
