<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A few reasons:</p>
<p>It was common to have a number of people of the same family buried in the same grave.<br />
Many never had a headstone as their family were too poor to have one made.<br />
Many of the headstones would have deteriorated so badly that they would have either fallen down or have been removed.</p>

<title>Number of Burials in Welsh Bicknor</title>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hi - I,m new to using the site but wonder if you can help<br />
Looking at the records for Welsh Bicknor it lists 347 burials between 1699 and 1959.. this eems a large number considering the number of gravestones...<br />
Anyone any ideas? <br />
Possibilites - <br />
there is more than one church?<br />
some burials wer at the chapel at Courtfield?</p>
