Thomas Meredith Ready of Littledean born c1714

My g-g-g-g-grandfather, Thomas Ready is recorded as working as a cockfounder in Bilston Staffs in the mid-1700s. He must have been born in the early 1700s and a search of the FamilySearch website came up with a Thomas Meredith Ready born c1714 in Littledean, his wife being Elizabeth Meredith and daughter Mary Meredith (b 1746). The same person (same wife and child) is also recorded as Thomas Meredith, i.e. without the name Ready.

I believe he may be Thomas of Bilston as my grandmother's eldest brother was christened Gerald Meredith Ready.

I should appreciate any information or observations that might help me to establish whether there is a link.
