Hi Susan,

Am looking for info about William and Sarah Symonds/Simons/Symmonds/Simmonds too :) think the same people feature in my family tree ... any info gratefully recieved!!

There is also a baptism at Much Marcle, of a William SYMONDS 23 April 1815, parents William and Sarah, residence - Yatton

1851 Census, YATTON, Herefordshire

Sarah SYMMONDS - 68, born Yatton (Widow)
Thomas JONES - 19, Visitor,born Walford

1841 Census, Hereford, Marcle Much (Township of Yatton)

William SYMONDS -55 - Blacksmith - born in County
Sarah SYMONDS - 55 - ditto
Edwin SYMONDS - 13 - ditt

If you use the Advanced Search facilities on this site, in this case baptisms - i.e. parents William and Sarah (say - SYMONDS) - there is about 20 in total - a few at Lydney, and a couple at Ross on Wye around the dates....(no Soundex system on this kind of search - unless I am mistaken, if not, this would be useful - if feasible...)

Looked up Jane Simmonds Baptism in the Parish Records. I found two entries.1st entry
Record Id 143152 Year 1812 12th July Fathers name William Mothers name Sarah
Parish- Chapel Abenhall.
2nd entry
Record Id 391416 Year 1812 27th September. Mother and fathers names the same
Parish - Chapel Much Marcle
Anyone have any Ideas why this is?
