Thank you all for the replies, really appriciated. It was understood here in Nuneaton that there was nothing to find about Percy George's (my Grandfather BTW), Father and so on back in time. I am very pleased to see that there is indeed quite a lot about them and I shall be looking back at them as soon as I can. So once again, thank you all.

I have Stephen Jayne in my Family Tree, primarily because his sister Ann Jayne 1827 married Thomas Marfell 1826. Their parents were James Jayne 1803 & Mary Wintle 1806, and yes the possible 1841 Census entry is correct.

Having only just started with family history it seems as if I have hit my first brickwall. I'm looking for Elijah Jayne, father of my maternal Grandfather Percy George Jayne. According to Percy's birth certifcate I have here Elijah had died before 1913 so any pointers to where to go would be gratefully appricated.
