Hi, Edward Aston and Elizabeth Hampton are my 2 x great grandparents. My tree shows Edward christened 13 May 1821 at Ruardean - non confirmist, the son of Edward Aston and Susan (nee Jones). They married on 30 Nov 1805 at Mitcheldean. Edward must have died before 1834 (although I haven't traced his death yet) as Susan remarried - Henry Heath on 19 Oct at Abenhall. Does this help? I have been trying to find out more about Elizabeth Hampton's b 1820 mother Christiana who married James Hampton b 1786 they are both my GGGG Grandmother and Father.The Elizabeth you have been on about had 4 siblings that i can find so far they were John Hampton B 1812 who married a Sarah Thomas, Mary Hampton b 1814 who married a man called Thomas Watts, Thomas Hampton who as of yet I have not found a marriage for and William Hampton abt 1818 who married my GGG grandmother Mary Ann Tippings b abt 1818, I hope this may help some of you who are wondering which family she belongs to. In my tree I have an Elizabeth Mary Aston b. 1850 in Coleford, father Thomas Aston. Elizabeth married Edward Tyler b. 1856 in 1878. Elizabeth died 1888.

Thank you for such a wealth of information in the 3 posts. I am amazed and wonder if you have a family link with either Astons or Hamptons! I am feeling much more confident about persuing this line now. Do you know if Edward was sometimes Edward Parkinson Ashton and son of Edward and Susan??

EDWARD ASTON b 1821 marriage to ELIZABETH HAMPTON b 1820. I am trying to find out where they were married - and to then find out if Edward was sometimes known as Edward Parkinson ASHTON and from which family Elizabeth came. I believe she died around 1857 and Edward then married Ann JEANS or JOYNES. My Gt Grandfather was their eldest son William Edward Aston. Aston is a very common name, and I will be pleased to have any information of this family which people may post. Many thanks.
