In my husbands tree we have several Phelps but cannot say for certain if they are of the same branch as yours.
Ours start with John Phelps abt 1780 Abinhall Gloucestershire, who married Prudence Good born 1785 East Dean.
Later down the line an Elizabeth Phelps born abt 1851 East Dean married a Thomas Herbert born abt 1850 East Dean. They moved to Normanton Yorkshire to work in the coal mines in the area. Normanton is quite near Castleford. Two of Elizabeth's brothers came with them, Daniel born abt 1860 Gloucestershire and Samuel Phelps born abt 1858 Gloucestershire. They settle here and had issue. Hope this is of help.

Clara Phelps (1870) of Lidbrook, daughter of Thomas Phelps (1843) of Goodrich and Maria Cole (1842) of Ruardean. The 1891 census states they had moved to Normanton, Yorkshire.

Clara married an Arthur Tombs, the lodger, who came from Worcestershire. Does anyone have any details of Clara her family and Arthur Tombs's family.

Can anyone tell me if any other members of Thomas's family also went to Yorkshire.
