James & Mary Beach arrived New York 15 Sept 1857 on the "Middlesex" (port of departure was Liverpool). Mary's parents were Henry Howell & wife Susannah (nee Jones). James' parents were James Beach and Sylvia (nee Williams).

I am a descendant of Mary's brother George. Please let me know if you would like further information on the Howell's.

His parents, James Beach & Mary Howell, came to US in Sep 1857 with family except son James & daughter Rhoda. James, Mary and rest of family returned to England as they are not on any subsequent US census but are on the 1861 English census.

James (born 1838), whenever he came to US, stayed -- married Isabella Atkinson in Ohio, fought in Civil War in Virginia regiment, was wounded & filed for pension. Moved to Pennsylvania then to western Kansas where he died.

I'd like to have more information the ancestors of James Beach in England. I'll be glad to share what I have on the US line of this family.
