Edward BRISCOE death at Flaxley Abbey 1852 (reply)

Just to update people about this. I tried to order the death certificate of this entry but no luck. The GRO said that they could not search for the certificate as they need a proper full name so whatever or whoever is the person on the death cert we may never know.

Edward Briscoe death at Flaxley Abbey 1852

Hello, I am writing to ask for info on Edward Briscoe born 1831 in Ireland and became a Footman at Flaxley Abbey and apparently drowned in a tragic accident in 1852. His parents were William and Johanna Briscoe of Littledean Lodge. The Parish Records section has a transcription of the burial at St Ethelberts, Littledean and I visited there last Saturday and saw the stone. It is still there but in poor condition, barely readable. I have searched the England and Wales death index for his death and I cannot find it. That has made me wonder as that seems very strange. Anyway any info on the event greatly appreciated.
