You wouldn't be Donna Chester, would you!? This is Jonathan Davies, your cousin on line! I still live in Texas, but I can save you a whole lot of trouble on the family tree, since I have the Symonds/Jenkins tree going back several hundred years.
I also have Otto Symonds pit watch which he gave to my dad, and many of the family photos my mum had in the 1920ies. I out them on line.
I have only just discovered the Forest of Dean web site.

If you go to Ancestry,com, and look for the Davies hedges martin holcomb tree, you will see the Symonds and Jenkins lines.I didnt do uncle Henry's James line.

Many thanks for your speedy response. It seems that there are two Thomas JAMES families; both had wives called Sarah. My grandfather was born Thomas Henry JAMES, born 12/4/1903. His mother was Sarah and his father was Thomas. My grandfather had siblings called Sidney, Lilian, Elizabeth Annie and two infants who died under the age of 5 years.

I am a new member and I am trying to trace my distant relatives. My grandfather was Thomas Henry JAMES from Viney Hill, his mother was Sarah JAMES and father was also Thomas JAMES.

My grandmother was born a SYMONDS, her father was Otto and her mother was Kate nee JENKINS.

Does anyone know anything about them?
