Marriage of Richard BUFFIN and Sarah JONES (reply)

Wendy

The marriage detail you seek is within this thread, provided by M P Griffiths :

Marriage HOPE MANSELL - 28 October 1815

Richard BUFFING (Bachelor) Ruardean, married Sarah JONES (Parish of Flaxley) - no parents names

John TIPPINGS & Elizabeth WILLIAMS (witnesses)

Using the advanced search:

Children of Richard & Sarah BUFFIN

Elizabeth : 8 November 1816 - Mitcheldean
Elizabeth : 15 December 1816 - Abenhall
Mary : 1820 - Drybrook
Hester : 1823 - Drybrook
Leah : 1827 - Ruardean
Eliza : 1831 - Drybrook
Sarah : 1836 - Drybrook
Richard : 1837 - Drybrook
Lousa - 1840 - Drybrook

Taking this a stage further back, I would be interested to know what details you have for his mother Mary Buffin. I can find a Sarah & a Kitty as daughters of William Buffin and Mary but not Mary - who you have shown as a 1772 daugther of William Buffin & Mary. I have Leah Buffin 1827 & John Bradley 1825 in my family tree, as their daughter Elizabeth 1852 married my 4th cousin 3 times removed Levi Wilce 1853on 5 July 1874.

What could be of interest to you is that I also have a William Buffin born abt 1750 who married a Mary Meek born abt 1750 on 13 July 1771 Ruardean. Witness Thomas Thompson (plus Joseph Harper who can be ignored as a Church Official)

Of particular interest to me is the Mary Meek that married William Buffin. I have over 30 Mary Meek's in my Family Tree, but only 2 that fit the bill; Mary Meek 1753 daughter of John Meek & Elizabeth Smart, and the more likely Mary Meek 1751 daughter of Thomas Meek & Sarah, both Mary's are 1st cousin's 7 times removed of mine.

William Buffin & Mary Meek are connected but not related to me - yet. They had 2 children that I know of Diana 1812 & John 1813, the reason they are in my Family Tree is complex but the descendants of their children lead to lots of connected Yemm's, Dubberley's etc. etc. but significantly to me to a Marfell.

If anyone knows which Mary Meek married William Buffin on 13 July 1771, I would be very interested.

Marriage of Richard and Sarah BUFFIN (reply)

I have been searching for the marriage of my great great grandfather Richard BUFFIN who was born in Ruardean in 1791, he and Sarah ,who. was born in 1796 in Ruardean. had 8 children., the youngest of whom was born in 1816 . Richard died in Quarry Hill in 1858 and Sarah died in Ruardean in 1878.

Richard was a collier and I believe his mother was Mary BUFFIN who was unmarried at his birth, and she may be the Mary BUFFIN born to William and Mary Buffing in 1772.

I would like to know the maiden name of Sarah as the trail comes to a halt otherwise .

Thanks in anticipation
